Bananas Foster / Banany flambirowane

This is an old fashioned and somewhat forgotten recipe. It was created in 1951 in Brennan's restaurant in New Orleans. The restaurant still exists and is successful to this day. The recipe's name comes from Richard Foster, a regular customer and friend of the owner.
To staromodny, trochę zapomniany deser. Powstał w nowoorleańskiej restauracji (istnieje i ma się dobrze do dziś), Brennan’s Restaurant, w 1951 roku. Nosi nazwę od Richarda Fostera, stałego bywalca lokalu i przyjaciela właściciela.

Bananas Foster
1 banana per person (3 or 4 quarters)
1-2 shot glasses of banana liquor (to taste)
1-2 shot glasses of dark rum (to taste)
100g butter
3 tbs of muscovado sugar
1 tsp of ground cinnamon
1 scoop of vanilla ice cream per person

Banany flambirowane

Potrzebujemy po 1 bananie na osobę (3-4 ćwiartki)
1-2 kieliszki likieru bananowego
1-2 kieliszki ciemnego rumu
100g masła
3 łyżki cukru muskowado
1 łyżeczka mielonego cynamonu
Opakowanie lodów waniliowych

1. Cut the banana in half lengthwise and then again breadth-wise, so you end up with quarters.
2. Melt the butter on a large frying pan. When it's melted add sugar and cinnamon. Stir.
3. Put the bananas in the mix and fry on a low heat. When they are slightly browned, turn them over and pour the liquor.
4. Swirl the frying pan so the sauce can mix, add the rum and ignite.
BE CAREFUL! Before the alcohol evaporates, extinguish the fire with the lid of the frying pan.
5. Put the bananas on the plate- 3-4 pieces per person, then add a scoop of ice cream and pour the hot sauce generously. Serve immediately.

1. Banany kroimy wzdłuż dłuższej osi na pół i jeszcze raz na pół, wzdłuż osi krótszej. Otrzymujemy ćwiartki.
2. Na dużej patelni rozgrzewamy delikatnie masło, na stopione wysypujemy cukier i cynamon, mieszamy.
3. Na ciepłą mieszaninę wykładamy banany i smażymy na niewielkim ogniu aż lekko ściemnieją, odwracamy na druga stronę i polewamy likierem.
4. Poruszamy patelnią żeby sos się wymieszał, podlewamy rumem i zapalamy. Ostrożnie! Zanim cały alkohol odparuje, gasimy ogień, używając np. pokrywki. 5. Banany wykładamy na przygotowane talerzyki, po 3-4 kawałki na osobę, dodajemy kulkę lodów i obficie polewamy gorącym sosem. Natychmiast podajemy.
